Mark joined Driehaus Private Equity in 2017 after a tenured career as a chief executive. Delivering the perspective of a chief executive, Mark concentrates his efforts on sourcing investment opportunities and supporting portfolio executive teams achieve their growth objective. Most recently, Mark was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago for 16 years and transitioned in July 2016 to Vice Chairman, Swedish Covenant Foundation. Prior to assuming his role with Swedish Covenant Hospital, he held senior executive positions with Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and Highland Park Hospital. Other industry experience includes international medical products with Baxter World Trade and American Hospital Supply, and transportation operations with Flying Tiger Lines (Federal Express). He has deep experience in business development to create market momentum through innovation, organizational focus and partnership building in transforming marketplaces.
Mark holds a Master of Management from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University with a concentration in Finance and Marketing. He completed his bachelor’s degree in economics, Summa Cum Laude, at North Park College where he later taught courses in marketing, international business and healthcare entrepreneurship. He is a fellow of ACHE and has been Chairman of the Association of Community Safety Net Hospitals, MyCare Chicago and Chicago Hospital Risk Pooling Program.
